What is beauty?

I remember well when I looked at Caravaggio's painting “Fruit Basket”. The perception of the beautiful image of the fruits is replaced by a tension of realizing that the fruits are spoiling, the leaves are drying up and the basket is in a fragile balance. My idea was to recreate this tension in a vase of flowers, beautiful at first glance, but where a closer observer begins to notice that the flowers are dying.
